Vic: Hicks detention longer than others: Mori

The US lawyer representing DAVID HICKS .. says the Guantanamo Bay detainee has served
more time than Australians convicted of terror-related offences .. and should now come
home.

Speaking in Melbourne .. Major MICHAEL MORI has compared HICKS' situation to that of
JACK THOMAS and JACK ROCHE.

THOMAS has recently been sentenced to five years' jail in Victoria's Supreme Court
for terror-related offences .. while ROCHE got a nine-year term in Perth in 2004 for plotting
to blow up the Israeli Embassy in Canberra.

Both men could serve less time than HICKS .. who's yet to be tried for conspiracy to
commit war crimes.

He's been in US custody since December 2001.
