Vic: Police slam top cop Nixon in online survey

Almost two-thirds of Victorian police .. who've responded to an online newspaper survey
.. say they've considered quitting the force in the past year because of stress and a
lack of resources.

Links to the survey were sent to more than 11-thousand police .. and almost three and
a half thousand have responded.

97 per cent say there aren't enough operational police to properly patrol the state.

64 per cent say commissioner CHRISTINE NIXON was wrong to suspend Police Association
secretary PAUL MULLETT .. following Office of Police Integrity allegations he was part
of a chain of leaks relating to an investigation into an underworld murder.

The union opposes new powers for the OPI .. and is demanding better resources .. more
police on the beat .. and an end to a requirement for police to disclose family .. friends
and contacts with questionable histories.

The full results are published today in the Herald Sun.
