QLD:Qld ministers keep spending modest
BRISBANE, Feb 17 AAP - Queensland ministerial spending has remained reasonable, at
just under $17 million for the second half of 2010, Premier Anna Bligh says.
Salary increases from enterprise bargaining were the main item driving growth of 2.73
per cent in spending in the six months to December 31, 2010, compared with the same period
in 2009.
Administrative costs grew by $91,000, or 1.64 per cent, due to increases in building
and IT services, offset in part by decreases in media services, photocopying and overseas
travel.
Expenditure in Ms Bligh's own office increased by 2.74 per cent, she said.
"This report clearly shows ministerial expenses are being maintained at reasonable
levels in what has been tough economic times," she said.
